The watch that leaves nothing to the imagination! This Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chrono 36 features a beautiful hand-wound mechanical movement and the tourbillon visible through the openwork dial.
Why we love it
For Baselworld 2017, Arnold & Son gave us another watchmaking miracle – Tourbillon Chrono 36. The watch references both the iconic chronometer made by John Arnold in 1776 – the first watch to be called a chronometer and it actually being a COSC-certified tourbillon chronometer watch, a rare feat. It is designed with a theatrical, in-your-face aesthetic; with all the inner mechanisms visible to the naked eye.
The construction of this Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chrono 36 is particularly unique; all the main elements of its mechanical movement are visible through the openwork dial. The back, however, is comparatively simple featuring the top plate. The dial puts on display the two mainspring barrels at the top, the entire gear train, and the tourbillon at 5 o’clock. While two brushed bridges sit atop the barrels, four skeleton cocks hold the train wheels, and a single steel cock supports the tourbillon. The neat engravings and subtle finishes keep the element of awe intact.
With a 46mm stainless steel case, this Ref. 1ETAS.B01A.C113S is certainly a big watch, but the presence of well-sculpted lugs make it sit comfortably on the wrist. The manually-wound movement is extremely well-assembled with 33 jewels. Thanks to the double mainspring, the watch boats a power reserve of 90 hours.
Arnold & Son’s unparalleled know-how and design excellence make this Tourbillon Chrono 36 a collector’s piece.
This Arnold & Son Tourbillon Chrono 36 1ETAS.B01A.C113S is in very good pre-owned condition with slight scratches on the case back and minor signs of use on the black leather strap.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
