A watchmaking masterpiece! Fusing savoir faire with an endless quest for excellence, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak comes endowed with an interesting moon phase complication on its iconic Tapisserie dial.
Why we love it
When Audemars Piguet Royal Oak first hit the watchmaking landscape with reference 5402, it instantly challenged the status quo, subsequently heralding a new era of high-end sports watches. Over the span of 50 years, this iconic timepiece has taken several appealing forms offering unparalleled functionality and effortless wearability with each iteration. Similar is the case with this reference 25594ST.0.0477ST.01.
This Audemars Piguet Royal Oak demonstrates the wonderful evolution of the collection. Its case is a refreshing 36mm in diameter and comes furnished with a fixed, screw-detailed bezel. The finishing on the case is brilliant, featuring vertical brushing throughout and the caseback comes elegantly engraved with the watch's namesake. The bevelled edges and the recognisable octagonal shape explain why the Royal Oak is not only a functional but a design champion as well.
The dial on this reference further solidifies the watch's stance as an aesthetically-appealing icon from Audemars Piguet. It is designed with a visually stunning Tapisserie pattern. The sub-counters at three and nine feature the date and day functions respectively, whereas at six o'clock sits the cool moon phase complication. In addition, the hour markers and hands are finished with a luminous coating.
The movement selected for this reference is calibre 2825, a self-winding mechanical movement constructed with 32 jewels. It provides a long power reserve of 40 hours.
Please note this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak bears light scratches on the case and caseback. A few minor nicks are also present on the bracelet and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
