A grail watch for many, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore seamlessly merges form and function with the finest of luxury watchmaking.
Why we love it
Born out of a cool irreverence for conventions and a natural nonconformist tendency, Royal Oak Offshore is a strong, bold, and dominating timepiece that best suits the wrist of individuals who share a similar personality. When introduced in 1993, Offshore proved that it would take only an enhanced Royal Oak to challenge the popularity of the Royal Oak. Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore is a more powerful, sturdier, and sportier version of the Royal Oak. It is also the watch that somewhat initiated the trend of oversized watches.
Ref. 25940OK.00.D002CA.01 steals the heart at the very first instant. With a classic 42mm size and 14.5mm thickness, it is quite notable and hefty. We love the construction of this watch; from the use of hues and materials to the proportions and the finish, everything is immaculate and refined. The 100m water-resistant rose gold case is enhanced by a subtle vertical brushing throughout. It comes equipped with sapphire crystal glass and a black bezel that comes punctuated with the signature screws.
Moving on to the dial, which is a real treat to the eyes, it is set with the signature “Méga Tapisserie” pattern that provides a suitable base for the Arabic numerals, luminescent-coated hands, vertically-positioned three sub-registers, and the distinctive date window at three o’clock. Elevating the piece's functionality is the tachymeter scale on the inner bezel.
Along with adding to the watch’s sporty vibe, the rubber strap also enhances its efficiency just like the self-winding automatic movement that powers this watch. Calibre 2326/2840 is equipped with 50 jewels and offers a 38-hour power reserve.
This pre-owned Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 25940OK.00.D002CA.01 is in very good condition with minor scuffs on the caseback and buckle.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
