A grail watch for many, this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore seamlessly merges form and function with the finest of luxury watchmaking.
Why we love it
The skill of evoking a distinctively powerful sense of watchmaking has turned Royal Oak Offshore into one of the most coveted and sought-after styles among collectors. Drawing upon the iconic legacy of Royal Oak, Offshore has endeavoured to reinterpret the signature codes of the collection through an astute, sporty lens. It was first introduced in 1993, and today, it is one of the linchpins of the maison.
This reference 26170ST.OO.D305CR.01 is defined by its bold aesthetics. Its versatile 42mm case, rendered in steel, is quite raw and rugged with a vertically brushed finish throughout, including the bezel, which houses the recognisable screw details. The screw-locked crown and the pushers of this chronograph are executed in solid black ceramic. The sporty vibe of the case echoes on the white dial, where the distinctive tapisserie pattern steals the show. The look on the dial is extremely appealing and is further elevated with blue-toned sub-dials set in a vertical configuration and a date window at three o'clock.
While the design and style are enough to make this Audemars Piguet watch a piece de resistance, its functional elements are even more compelling. 100m water-resistant, this reference is driven by calibre 3126/3840. It is meticulously constructed using 59 jewels and 365 parts to ensure a flawless mechanism. This self-winding automatic movement beats at a frequency of 21,600bph and provides a power reserve of 50 hours.
Please note this Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore 26170ST.OO.D305CR.01 bears noticeable nicks on the sapphire crystal glass and some visible dents on the case, caseback, and clasp. The leather strap shows a satisfactory form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
