Indulge in the exquisite blend of timeless elegance and sophisticated complications with this Blancpain Villeret Grande Date Jour Retrograde.
Why we love it
Retaining the stealth luxury aura of the Villeret collection while coalescing it with a couple of practical complications is this 2018-released Villeret Grande Date Jour Retrograde. While it looks quite minimalist at first, it has plenty of details that make it a wholesome timepiece with the elegance and excellence one associates with Blancpain. As the name suggests, the watch carries a large date and a retrograde day indication, introducing these complications into the Villeret line most interestingly.
The overall look of the watch follows a timeless dress watch aesthetic. It features an opaline silver dial that radiates and plays well against the 18k rose gold case, displaying a stepped bezel and cinched Roman numerals. The slender leaf-shaped hands with the logo that counterweights the seconds hand, add to the clean configuration of the dial. Blancpain forewent the traditional place for a big date and deliberately opted for a position between five and six. Additionally, the retrograde day feature eccentrically placed at eight o'clock, elegantly disrupts the dial's harmony.
Powering the timepiece is Blancpain's new 6950GC in-house movement, which is based on calibre 1150. Fitted with two mainspring barrels, it generates a reserve of 72 hours, ensuring longevity and reliability. The use of a silicon hairspring further enhances the accuracy of timekeeping.
Please note that this Blancpain Villeret 6668-3642-55B has scratches on the case, caseback, and buckle. The strap is in satisfactory form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
