A beautiful, compelling, and elegant incarnation of 19th-century pocket watches, this Bovet 19Thirty is an instant classic that must not be missed!
Why we love it
Bovet's much sought-after timepiece - the 19Thirty - has 19th-century pocket watches to thank for its unique case and dial design. This elegant and statement watch, which spotlights Bovet's traditional ornamental technique - guilloche, depicts Pascal Raffy's vision of an everyday watch. This reference NTS0055 was released in 2021, drawn from the success of the red guilloche dial in the collection introduced earlier in the same year.
Designed by Pascal Raffy himself, the soothing charm of the turquoise dial of this 19Thirty instantly made it a fan favourite. A minimal timepiece from the house's otherwise avant-garde selection, yet with that dial and the artistic details, this watch's fancy personality comes forward. Sui generis, ergonomic, and finished to the highest standard - this Bovet beauty inspires one's full attention. Starting from the dial, of course, we find lovely depth and texture all over. The hours-and-minutes dial finds a place of pride at the centre, while a seconds sub-dial tails the former at six o'clock. Both these conjoined dials boldly showcase the allure of the unique colour and the guilloche pattern. The whopping seven-day power reserve offered by the manual-wound calibre 15BM04 is on display at three o'clock on the dial. The rest of the expanse is enriched with a precise cotes de Geneve pattern for a strong, creative look.
This is also a timepiece perfect for elevating any humble look. Its notable 42mm case in polished stainless steel creates a dominating presence on the wrist. Finally, the crown at the characteristic 12 o'clock position and the complementing strap only further ensures that this Bovet 19Thirty watch is a complete package of style and substance.
This pre-owned Bovet 19Thirty NTS0055 bears light scratches on the case, caseback, lugs, and buckle. It is paired with a leather strap in satisfactory condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
