The Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph brings together the visual allure of a refined pilot’s tool and the accomplishments of a watch that has soared from cockpits to space.
Why we love it
Launched in 1952 when Willy Breitling designed a chronograph with a circular slide rule for pilots’ flight calculations, the Navitimer has grown to be an icon. Recognised as the official timepiece of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) in 1954, it gained widespread recognition among pilots and enthusiasts, even making its way to space with astronaut Scott Carpenter in 1962.
This Navitimer B01 Chronograph preserves the hallmarks of its storied history while incorporating modern refinements. The brushed and polished stainless steel case accentuates its elegant profile, accompanied by a bi-directional rotating bezel with a circular slide rule, true to the original purpose of enabling essential flight calculations. The blue dial, enriched by silver sub-dials and a silver flange, provides a striking contrast, enhancing readability and visual appeal. The chronograph features include a large red central seconds hand and a 30-minute counter at three o’clock. It also has a 12-hour counter with a date feature at six o’clock and a small seconds sub-dial at nine o’clock. These elements showcase the column wheel mechanism, a hallmark of refined chronograph movements.
A nod to the past is the return of the AOPA wings logo at 12 o’clock, reinstating a classic feature that resonates with enthusiasts. The polished hour and minute hands, filled with luminescent material, ensure visibility in varying light conditions, while applied index markers with luminous tips add to its practicality. Powered by the in-house Breitling calibre B01, this timepiece boasts a power reserve of approximately 70 hours.
This Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph AB0137211C1A1 is in mint condition with no scratches on the watch.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
