Undeniably one of the most iconic watches ever, a timepiece that has transcended its original functionality and is now regarded as a status symbol in a massive 46mm size.
Why we love it
In 2014, Breitling gave its linchpin Navitimer an attention-grabbing update by introducing it in a massive 46mm case. For decades, the watch had measured 42 and then 43mm in diameter. So, this subtle but significant improvement was indeed much-awaited. But beyond the increased size, the watch cast in stainless steel remains fairly classic. Some of the most characteristic features of the iconic Navitimer are befittingly included - the faceted lugs, the notched rotating bezel, and the dial layout where sub-dials are placed in a horizontal configuration. From the slide rule feature to the date window between four and five, the blue dial on this watch promises constant legibility.
The evolution can be witnessed on the caseback, which has turned exhibition style to showcase Breitling's first in-house calibre B01. It's a self-winding chronograph movement housing a column-wheel with a vertical clutch system and boasts 70 hours of running autonomy. On the wrist, the watch feels extremely elegant and surprisingly not as big as it actually is. With design, aesthetics, and details, it sends forth a quintessential charming pilot-watch aura that we all have come to love and naturally expect from the Navitimer.
What you should know
Please note this Breitling Navitimer B01 Chronograph AB0137241L1A1 shows light scratches on the sapphire crystal glass, case, and caseback. There are also a few minor nicks on the bracelet and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
