Ladies, the world of women's watches has never been better, and timepieces like this elegant Navitimer is a clear proof.
Why we love it
Breitling's iconic pilot's watch, Navitimer was first introduced in 1952 as a chronograph to help pilots with easy calculations while airborne. Today, the collection stands as the brand's linchpin and includes all kinds of incredible developments. And to women's delight, Navitimer's recent iterations have been particularly wrist-friendly, with the launch of a 38mm model in 2018 and this 35mm one in 2020.
Fans of Navitimer will be quick to spot the beaded bi-directional slide rule bezel, which certainly works as a cynosure on this model, gleaming in rose gold against the subtle stainless steel case. The fine polished finish puts the watch firmly in the cocktail-ready dress genre, and the scaled-down 35mm size with a humble 9.9mm thickness further bolsters this notion.
The dial retains the signature look of a Navitimer, carrying pointed sword hands and a red arrow tipped seconds hand. The mother-of-pearl dial with diamond hour markers hammer home the elegant, dressy appeal aimed for this reference. The lack of any extra functionality is a discerning choice that gives the dial a pure and clean look.
Breitling's calibre 17 powers this watch with COSC-certified chronometer accuracy while providing 38 hours of power reserve.
This Breitling Navitimer U17395211A1U1 is in overall very good condition with just a few minor nicks on the case and caseback. Also, there are a few scuffs on the bracelet and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
