Carl F. Bucherer celebrated the opening of its first boutique in its hometown, Lucerne with the introduction of an elegant Boutique edition of the classic Manero Peripheral.
Why we love it
For anyone enamoured by the art of watchmaking, Carl F. Bucherer's peripheral technology is a significant point of reference. While the first calibre to be bolstered with this technology - the A1000 was a smash hit, its subsequent iterations have been no less extraordinary, in fact, the contrary. A2050, an iteration of the original calibre, was released in 2017 with Manero Peripheral - a watch that combined the elegant aesthetics of the house with all the key elements of a tasteful dress watch.
This reference 00.10917.08.53.88 is the Boutique edition of the Manero Peripheral, introduced to celebrate the opening of maison's first boutique in Lucerne. It comes with a moderately-sized stainless steel case featuring an open caseback and 30m water resistance capabilities. Further, the feeling of an elegant dress watch is reinforced by the presence of a polished finish, fluid angles, chamfered edges, and a classic round profile. A similar urbane style continues with the leather strap that flaunts a refined shade of blue to match the dial. Legibility is ubiquitous with the contrasting rose gold faceted indexes and hands on the dial. In addition, the earmarking of the date window and the recessed small-seconds subdial create a pleasing harmony. An exercise in clean execution, the dial is complete with the brand signature below 12 o'clock.
Being a Carl F. Bucherer, this Manero makes a case of classic watchmaking, but the actual star of the watch is the mechanism that beats inside. The calibre A2050 is an automatic mechanical movement with bi-directional winding powered by the peripheral rotor. This in-house movement is also the first COSC-certified calibre kitted with the peripheral technology and it promises a power reserve of 55 hours.
The leather strap of this pre-owned Carl F. Bucherer watch is in satisfactory form, and overall, this Manero boasts a very good condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
