The innate elegance and savoir faire of Cartier expressed in a contemporary form- this Santos with a sublime two-tone look is a vision to behold.
Why we love it
Introduced in 2019, the Cartier Santos Chronograph made a striking impression in the watch industry, distinguishing itself with its sleek design and unique features, paralleling two other variations in the collection. Building upon the successful Santos case design, this chronograph showcases an in-house movement that adds a delightful mechanical twist.
The case measures 43.3mm in width, 51.3mm in length, and has a thickness of 12.5mm, with an impressive water resistance of up to 100 metres. A captivating blue spinel cabochon adorns the crown, enhancing its elegance. While one might be tempted to refer to this Santos Chronograph as a monopusher, that would be incorrect; it actually features two pushers with the reset function ingeniously integrated into the crown. This thoughtful design choice minimises visual clutter, allowing for a streamlined aesthetic with a single pusher on the right side of the case for starting and stopping the chronograph.
At the heart of this timepiece lies the Cartier calibre 1904-CH MC automatic movement. The chronograph boasts a subtly smaller sub-dial for subsidiary seconds, with each sub-dial delicately recessed into the main dial for an added touch of sophistication. Operating at 4Hz, this movement possesses a chronograph module atop a robust automatic base, offering a commendable 48-hour power reserve.
This Santos de Cartier W2SA0008 is in excellent condition despite the minor nicks on the bezel.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
