Can we get some whistles and cheering for this understated timepiece? This is Tank Francaise that channels Cartier's elegance and sophistication in full measure.
Why we love it
Introduced in 1996, Cartier Tank Francaise has been around for as long back as our memory goes as a leading model in the brand's catalogue. Cartier designed it to be a contemporary version of the original Tank, and it's worth noting how by means of minor, subtle nuances that intent was effortlessly materialised. While Francaise retained many of the details that made Tank stand out, for instance, the track-like minute chapter ring and the elongated case sides, it also had new elements that made it a hit in its own right. It came with a squarer case as opposed to a rectangular through and through and an integrated metal bracelet.
Reference W51005Q4 is a handsome watch outfitted with a 28mm stainless steel case that features a clean satin finish on the bezel and a polished surface on the contours. It's a slim timepiece that elevates the charm of the wrist in the most elegant fashion. The dial, silver in colour, is teeming with beauty through an intricate guilloche pattern, Roman numeral hour markers, and signature blue hands.
Cartier's expert craftsmanship is evident on the integrated bracelet that features broad-brushed links with polished sides mixed with slender 18k gold ones. And finally, the automatic movement ensures the watch allows flawless timekeeping.
This Cartier Tank Francaise W51005Q4 has minor marks on the crystal, case, and caseback. The bracelet and clasp have scuffs as well.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
