If you love Corum’s Admiral watches but wish for something less eccentric, this AC-One 45 will make a fine choice with its balanced proportions and gorgeous dial.
Why we love it
This AC-One 45 is a coveted timepiece from the Admiral’s Cup collection, first introduced in 2013. Succeeding the characterful and quirky models before it, the AC-One 45 significantly updated the line via a subtler appearance and a contemporary vibe. On the wrist, it’s a watch that carries forward the essence of the collection in a more refined fashion but without forgoing the elements that made it a hit since its initial release in 1960.
Measuring 45mm in diameter, this reference 132.201.86/0F01 AN11 belongs to a series of largest-sized models in the Admiral line. Thanks to this substantial size and a 14.3mm thickness, the watch creates a bold wrist presence. However, it does not feel hefty due to the lightweight titanium construction in the signature dodecagonal shape. Both style and wearability are offered in spades by this watch.
Apart from the size, this reference is characterised by its charming dial. With a ‘grenadier fendu’ (‘split pomegranate’) pattern, a tri-compax chronograph setting, the signature nautical pennant markers on the flange, and the date window at 4:30, it’s a watch that is aesthetically marvellous. The use of rose gold through the faceted bezel, crown, and pushers adds a luxurious slant to the overall look.
The movement used in the watch for accurate timekeeping is the automatic calibre CO 132. With a frequency of 28800 bph and a 42-hour power reserve, it is as efficient as well-assembled, visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
This Corum Admiral AC-One 45 132.201.86/0F01 AN11 features a fairly good, pre-owned condition. There are some visible dents present on the lugs and some scratches on the caseback and clasp. Without any significant signs of use, the black leather strap is in satisfactory condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
