An uncomplicated watch proportionally executed to furnish high versatility – this Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar is an icon in the making.
Why we love it
It was all too easy to get smitten by the 1966 Full Calendar when it was first released – a timepiece with tasteful elements, an understated dress watch appeal, and the practical full calendar complication. This reference 49535-11-131-BB60, released in 2016, is similarly shrouded in elegance. It stays honest to the initial brief, although the stainless steel construction (the first 1966 Full Calendar in non-precious metal) reflects the timepiece’s subtle evolution.
The watch delivers sophistication and urbanity with its smooth round case — 40mm diameter. It brings a well-crafted and stylishly put calendar on the silver dial. The day and month apertures with distinctive red text sit below the brand signature at 12, while the date and moon phase functions are nestled at six o’clock in a sub-dial. The rest of the dial nails discreet opulence with slim indexes, clean minute scale, and well-designed leaf hands.
While the classic allure exuded by this reference is the highlight of the watch for us, the movement is a close second. The GP03300 calibre is a meticulously crafted in-house movement composed of 295 components. It has a highly flat construction and flaunts the beautiful Geneva stripping through the sapphire crystal caseback. The power autonomy on offer is 46 hours.
This Girard-Perregaux 1966 Full Calendar 49535-11-131-BB60 has minor nicks on the bezel and case. Yet, it is in very good condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
