Sleek, polished, and gracefully balanced, the Girard-Perregaux 1966 Date and Moon Phases captures the essence of vintage-inspired elegance.
Why we love it
This Girard-Perregaux 1966 Date and Moon Phases is a refined example of the brand’s dedication to both design and horological excellence. This timepiece, with its 40mm stainless steel case and silver opaline dial, epitomises a timeless aesthetic, inspired by the elegant watches of the 1960s. The case is polished and features gently curved lugs, lending the watch a soft, rounded appearance that offers a comfortable fit on the wrist. The integration of the strap into the case ensures seamless wearing comfort.
The dial is a study in balance and clarity. Positioned at six o’clock, the moon phase display offers a subtle yet captivating view of the lunar cycle, with a date sub-dial encircling it. The date is clearly displayed on the outer circle providing a precise reading without cluttering the dial. The leaf-shaped hour and minute hands glide gracefully over the surface, while the applied baton indexes to enhance legibility, creating a harmonious layout.
The 1966 Date and Moon Phases is powered by the GP03300 movement, a self-winding calibre that boasts a 46-hour power reserve. With 276 components and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the movement is a testament to Girard-Perregaux’s technical expertise, providing both reliability and refinement. This model’s classic design is complemented by its modern mechanics, making it a sophisticated choice for those who appreciate understated elegance paired with functional complications.

Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
