The intriguing skeleton dial of this Free Bridge brings Girard-Perregaux's high watchmaking virtuosity to the forefront.
Why we love it
The Free Bridge presents a contemporary version of the iconic Bridge collection that has been the crown of Girard-Perregaux's repertoire since the 1860s. Things are slightly different in this model, but how the interior and the exterior become one by merging function and form remains unchanged.
This watch is represented by a round case subtly elevated by the contrast between polished and brushed finishes as well as tapered lugs that make the substantial 44mm size look moderate on the wrist. Thus, the model can be viewed as an elegant timepiece that can be flaunted for everyday use and special occasions.
Calibre GP01800-1170, developed in-house, is built in a way that the elements that are usually placed at the rear are visible from the front. The dial displays an eye-catching sight with the skeletonized mainspring barrel at 12 o'clock and the swinging balance set under a single black bridge at six o'clock. Discerning eyes will appreciate the fine brushed finish, the meticulous application of hour indexes, and the partially floating GP logo on the dial.
The escapement and parts of the balance wheel in the automatic movement are rendered in silicon. The calibre beats at a frequency of 4Hz, ensures a power reserve of 54 hours, and is composed of 185 parts. Overall, this Free Bridge is a visual treat, with its strength in its aesthetic and design. It's a definite conversation starter that promises unparalleled style and high watchmaking.
Overall, this Girard-Perregaux Free Bridge 82000-11-631-FA6A is in fair pre-owned condition with a well-maintained case and leather strap.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
