An iconic design meets impressive feminine details in this Laureato 34 designed for tasteful women.
Why we love it
A contemporary Laureato for women was a long overdue proposition that finally materialised in 2017 with the release of Laureato 34. To celebrate its 225th anniversary, Girard-Perregaux introduced a ladies’ version of its most iconic timepiece, and honestly, there are so many things about it that we absolutely love. But since Laureato is most recognised for its design, we’ll begin there. Laureato was first introduced in 1975 and was known for its steel construction, octagonal bezel, and integrated bracelet. Today, with Laureato 34, we get all these impressive elements and more. This reference 80189D52A232-52A is a dainty 34mm rendered in lush 18k rose gold. The iconic octagonal bezel is decked with 56 brilliant-cut diamonds, and the integrated bracelet is a lesson in excellent finishing with contrasting brushed and polished surfaces.
Like all Laureatos, the dial here grabs attention with the signature Clou de Paris pattern in a soothing grey shade. The applied gold indexes and hands, both of which are luminous, act in harmony with the case, while the date aperture at three effortlessly blends with the other dial furniture. Overall, each detail on the dial works to elevate the visage just enough for a touch of understated refinement.
The quartz calibre powering this timepiece harkens back to the first Laureato of 1975, also a quartz watch released as a response to the then-going quartz movement.
Even with minor scuffs on the caseback, bracelet, and clasp, this Girard-Perregaux Laureato 80189D52A232-52A promises excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
