This Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton Ceramic spotlights the striking appeal of material innovation with a bold, skeletonised look.
Why we love it
As one of 2017's big releases, Girard-Perregaux created a new Laureato constructed in all-black ceramic. Known as the Laureato Skeleton Ceramic, this reference 81015-32-001-32A brings all the case and bracelet components in ceramic with alternate brushed and polished finishes to counterpoint the stark black look and also provide a pleasing character.
The case is very much like a classic Laureato with the signature octagonal faceted bezel. It measures 42mm in diameter and 11.13mm in thickness, featuring 100 meters of water resistance and scratch-resistant sapphire crystals fitted at both the front and the back. The dial follows neat skeletonisation where legibility is bolstered by luminous hands and markers that appear to float from the outer minute scale. The bridges of the movement have been PVD-treated and satin-finished to foster an overall balanced look. Highlighting the movement’s mechanical complexity are the exposed barrel with visible mainspring at around 5:30, a small seconds sub-dial at 10 o’clock, and the balance wheel at 12, juxtaposed with the GP logo.
The in-house calibre GP01800-0006 is an automatic movement that beats at 28,800vph and offers a 54-hour running autonomy. It flaunts an 18k rose gold rotor that has been skeletonised for a stronger aesthetic and uninterrupted visual of the movement’s workings.
Even with light marks on the case and bracelet, this Girard-Perregaux Laureato Skeleton Ceramic 81015-32-001-32A promises excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
