To celebrate 230 years of heralding watchmaking brilliance, Girard-Perregaux elevated its Absolute series with this limited edition piece, crafted with lightweight and uniquely-textured carbon glass.
Why we love it
The first Laureato Absolute was a shocking hit for everybody out there upon its release. It was a direct lesson in recreating icons and actually offered an elevated take on one of the most iconic watches ever made. Two years later, the maison introduced a striking limited edition model of the Absolute to commemorate its 230th anniversary called Absolute Wired. It carefully updates the design through material innovation, taking Absolute's success even further.
This Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Wired brings the identical integrated silhouette of the original with a 44mm case. The difference with Wired is that the house employed no traditional material to cast this timepiece. Instead, it used carbon glass, which is layers of carbon fibre and fibreglass subjected to high temperatures and pressure. The result is a unique textured appearance. To further up the creativity, while the pattern on the case is all black, the signature octagonal bezel carries touches of blue, delivering a distinctive profile through and through.
The dial carries an attractive visual depth and is designed in the characteristic sandwich style. The layered indexes and sub-dials help define the watch's overall legibility. The date window is discreetly placed between four and five o'clock, and the hands are luminous.
The Absolute Wired is powered by in-house calibre GP03300-1058, an automatic chronograph movement with a 28,800bph beat rate and 46 hours of power reserve. The dramatic aura of this Laureato Absolute Wired transitions beautifully on the wrist. It catches the attention immediately of the wearer and the audience both.
Besides some visible dirt on the rubber strap, this limited edition Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Wired 81060-36-694-FH6A shows excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
