Paying homage to the popular Art Deco design of the 1920s, this Vintage 1945 is also an embodiment of the maison's rich heritage.
Why we love it
The Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 takes inspiration from the Art Deco design. The 1920s or the Roaring 20s saw a massive shift in design aesthetics where the watches went from being timelessly round to geometric style, and the Vintage 1945 harnesses that bold sophistication mixed with contemporary nuances.
On this reference 25805 11 822 BAEA, the case takes a rectangular form with a convex profile, allowing it to sit comfortably on the wearer's wrist. It strongly carries angular and rounded curves that perfectly hammer home the 20s sensibility, manifesting a vintage appeal. The smooth polished finish adds a soupcon of classiness to the case, along with brushed surfaces for contrast. It measures 32mm to complement the modern taste and is paired with a brown leather strap.
The dial flaunts a legible configuration with a tone-on-tone sub-dial measuring small seconds at six o'clock. A big date aperture sits conspicuously at 12. The hands and Arabic numeral markers are rendered in a golden shade, giving the watch a luxurious undertone. Visible through the exhibition caseback, this Vintage 1945 uses calibre GP 3330. Overall, this watch is a beautiful juxtaposition of vintage roots and modern style, all underscored by Girard-Perregaux's ingenuity.
This Girard-Perregaux Vintage 1945 25805 11 822 BAEA shows light scuffs on the case and caseback. Also, the strap is slightly soiled.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
