This Grand Seiko straddles the lines between timeless elegance, watchmaking trends, and unrivalled precision with a gorgeous dial and its Spring Drive mechanism.
Why we love it
The Grand Seiko Heritage Spring Drive Four Seasons SBGA413 or the Shunbun takes a poetic approach to the brand’s first automatic watch, the celebrated 62GS. Depicting the spring season in a never-seen-before style, the Shunbun is a delightful illustration of Grand Seiko’s craft. Its mesmerising pink dial with a textured surface recreates a special moment of the Japanese spring called Hana-Ikada when Sakuras or the cherry blossoms are scattered all over the surface of the river by the wind. The perfection and understated personality of the dial create a soothing harmony, a vista that’s eye-catching but not overpowering.
High-intensity titanium contributes heavily to the unique look of this SBGA413, as it appears darker in shade than how a stainless steel watch would look. Also, it makes the case surprisingly lightweight, even with a thickness of 12.8mm. The brushed finishes offset the polished surfaces on the case, while the 40mm size and a bezel-less construction optimise wearability. Overall, the watch’s got an impressive wrist presence.
Of course, the movement powering the watch is a Spring Drive calibre, 9R65. Hand-made and assembled at the Shinshu Watch Studio, this hybrid movement promises a precision of ±1 second per day and a whopping 72 hours of power reserve.
This Grand Seiko Heritage Spring Drive Four Seasons SBGA413 shows an overall excellent condition with just a few negligible marks on the caseback, bracelet, and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
