A visual feast for the eyes, the Grand Seiko SBGE255 Spring Drive GMT combines a captivating sunray dial with masterful craftsmanship, creating a stunning statement piece.
Why we love it
This Grand Seiko SBGE255 Spring Drive GMT showcases an exceptional blend of precision and aesthetic appeal. Its 40.5mm stainless steel case, meticulously crafted with zaratsu-polished surfaces, provides a sleek yet durable exterior. The polished bevel offers a mirror-like finish, complementing the textured, brushed top surfaces of the lugs, which are designed with sharp edges for a refined look.
The dial's deep blue sunray finish is visually captivating, and captures light beautifully, evoking the tranquil hues of twilight. It is further enhanced by applied hour markers that taper at cardinal points, filled with Lumibrite while the slim rectangular markers between add a subtle elegance. The layout is both functional and aesthetically pleasing, with slender markers between the hours that contribute to a sense of balance and harmony. One of the SBGE255's most practical features is the 9R66 Spring Drive movement, which combines the traditional power of a mechanical mainspring with the precision of a quartz regulator.
The watch's signature smooth gliding seconds hand is a hallmark of this movement, offering an unparalleled sense of timekeeping. It also boasts a 24-hour GMT hand, a power reserve indicator, and a zirconia ceramic bezel for added scratch resistance, all while maintaining a water resistance of 20 bar for versatile wear. This timepiece embodies both practicality and aesthetic appeal, making it an ideal companion for those who appreciate the beauty of time.
This Grand Seiko SBGE255 Spring Drive GMT has light scratches on the case and caseback. There are scuffs on the bracelet and clasp of the watch as well
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
