With on-point referential nuances, a fantastic design, and only 200 pieces in the edition, our advice would be to call dibs on this charmer before it's too late.
Why we love it
Hublot has a rich legacy of producing robust and reliable watches, often preferred by sport professionals and enthusiasts. It was perhaps because of this heritage that Formula 1 partnered with the brand in 2010 and announced it as their official watchmaker. Subsequently, Hublot produced a number of Formula 1-themed timepieces. This limited edition King Power 703.OM.1138.NR.FMI11 was released by the house to commemorate India's first-ever Formula 1 race in 2011. And we must say, Hublot quite nailed it!
The watch has been dressed up with referential hues on the dial that serves as the canvas. You'll find the tri-colours that represent the Indian flag, a lovable testimony to the country. The luminous material is orange on all the hour indexes and hands, whereas the sub-registers at three and nine beautifully flaunt orange, white, and green shades. Furthermore, the small-seconds subdial at six carries 'India' printing - the final giveaway. Overall, the dial is bold with a black backdrop and highly legible even with the chronograph counters and the date window between four and five.
The 48mm case comes meticulously crafted in 18k rose gold with a black ceramic overlay on the bezel, amplified in character by complementing screws and perforations that mimics the performance brake discs. The motorsport-inspired aesthetic extends to the pushers that carry rubberised 'Start' and 'Reset' inscriptions. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is the automatic calibre HUB4100 that beats at a frequency of 28,800bph and promises a power reserve of 42 hours.
This Hublot Big Bang King Power F1 India edition shows scratches on the sapphire crystal glass, bezel, and caseback. Its strap, rendered in rubber and fabric, is in good condition. However, the clasp bears a few minor nicks.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
