This IWC Aquatimer resonates with the confident style and bold attitude of the trailblazer - Jacques-Yves Cousteau.
Why we love it
An ergonomic timepiece, the Aquatimer Cousteau Divers IW378101 is a celebration of Cousteau's life and his revered work in the field of ocean conservation. The watch brings along with it adept watchmaking and a sense of consciousness. The meticulously-engraved portrait of Cousteau on the caseback makes it a collector's item, while its impregnable functionality renders it one of the best diver's watches ever.
This reference IW378101 is designed to work as an unfaltering instrument for divers. From the 120-metre water resistance to the mechanical internal/external bezel designed with the patented SafeDive system and the rubber straps integrated with a quick change system, IWC has painstakingly packed this IWC watch with ace features to make it absolutely infallible. The dial on this reference is a striking blue with markers and hands filled with luminescent material. The sub-dials featuring 30-minute, 12-hour, and seconds are positioned uniformly to keep the legibility of the dial intact. The day-date window and the brand insignia occupying the three o'clock position act as the final bells and whistles.
Inside, an IWC calibre 79320 beats at a frequency of 28,800bph to provide a power reserve of approximately 44 hours. Although fabricated as a tool watch, this Aquatimer performs equally well as a statement accessory that effortlessly elevates any ensemble, from casual chinos to tailored pants, all the while being ready to accompany a diving suit.
This IWC Aquatimer IW378101 has minor scuffs on the crystal and bezel. The case and caseback have nicks too.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
