The elegant form and discerning details on this IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Top Gun Edition 'SFTI' reflect maison's refined aesthetics, while the ceramic case construction and its high precision reveal an appreciation for functional excellence.
Why we love it
The IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Top Gun Edition 'SFTI' commemorates the relationship the maison shares with the US Navy Strike Fighter Tactics Instructor program, also called Top Gun. In 2005, the US Navy granted IWC the licence to manufacture watches branded as Top Gun. These watches are supposed to withstand the rigours of the said nine-week program, and IWC ensured it with utter sophistication and precision.
This reference IW324712 inspires a rugged appeal with its ceramic case, whose lightweight construction ensures the 41mm size feels even more easy and comfortable on the wrist. The dial, which mirrors the timeless shade of the case, is legible and very well-balanced. Highly luminous Arabic numeral hour markers and hands, a small date window at three o'clock, and the Top Gun logo at nine populate the dial elegantly.
Like all IWC watches, this Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Top Gun Edition 'SFTI' promises unfaltering precision and function. Automatic calibre 35111 beats at a frequency of 28,800bph to ensure a power autonomy of 42 hours.
Please note this IWC Pilot's Watch Mark XVIII Top Gun Edition 'SFTI' shows light scratches on the case, caseback, and clasp. However, its fabric strap is in good condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
