This vintage-inspired Pilot's Watches Spitfire balances concepts of strength and engineering to create one of the best chronographs ever.
Why we love it
For those who admire IWC for its precise tool watches, especially the pilot ones, this Spitfire offers an impressive combination of the maison's signature aesthetics and its contemporary watchmaking art. This reference IW387802 is automatic, 43mm wide with a round stainless steel case, 15.4mm thick, and 60 metres water resistant. A brushed finish is found throughout the case except for the polished bevelled edges and bezel. In a similar vein, the dial carries a contrast of textures featuring a sunburst finish which is a bit stepped up compared to the ribbed sub-registers, set up in a vertical configuration. The Arabic numerals are applied meticulously and the date aperture occupies the three o'clock position.
This reference is equipped with a flyback chronograph complication enabled by the highly-precise IWC calibre 89365. It comes with a 28,800 bph frequency and a 68-hour power reserve. The non-branded blue strap pairs well with the case and settles most effortlessly on the wrist.
What you should know
This IWC Pilot’s Watches Spitfire IW387802 has visible scratches on the case, caseback, and clasp. The watch is equipped with a non-branded strap which is in satisfactory form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
