The darling Portugieser, flaunts a sense of elegance and charm, underscored by practical details and a reliable mechanism.
Why we love it
Introduced in 2018, the IWC Yacht Club Chronograph IW390502 boasts a 43.5mm stainless steel case. This size, while substantial, maintains the brand's tradition of robust design. It retains several design elements from classic chronographs, such as the case shape, pushers, and crown. The dial is particularly eye-catching with its sunburst silver finish and complementing sub-dials. The top and bottom counters, which record hours and minutes elapsed and running seconds respectively, feature a circular pattern and are recessed for added depth. The red chronograph seconds hand adds a distinct and charming touch.
Powering the Yacht Club Chronograph is the IWC 89361 calibre, an in-house chronograph movement with a 68-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800bph. This self-winding movement includes a flyback function and a date complication, with finishing touches that include Côtes de Genève and perlage decorations.
What you should know
This IWC Portugieser Yacht Club Chronograph IW390502 has a few scuffs on the bezel, caseback, and clasp. The leather strap is in satisfactory form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
