It retains several design elements from classic chronographs, such as the case shape, pushers, and crown. The dial is particularly eye-catching with its sunburst silver finish and complementing sub-dials. The top and bottom counters, which record hours and minutes elapsed and running seconds respectively, feature a circular pattern and are recessed for added depth. The red chronograph seconds hand adds a distinct and charming touch.

Powering the Yacht Club Chronograph is the IWC 89361 calibre, an in-house chronograph movement with a 68-hour power reserve and a frequency of 28,800bph. This self-winding movement includes a flyback function and a date complication, with finishing touches that include Côtes de Genève and perlage decorations.
