A combination of mechanical excellence and refined aesthetics makes this IWC Portugieser a standout timepiece in the horological world.
Why we love it
This IWC Portugieser, introduced in 2004, is a stunning addition to any watch collection. Encased in stainless steel measuring 42mm, this watch seamlessly integrates refined elegance into your daily ensemble, serving as both a timepiece and a stylish accessory.
Solidifying its minimalistic aesthetic, this Portugieser features a classic black dial bearing dainty leaf hands and Arabic numerals markers. The railway-track minute markers around the rim of the dial exude timeless charm as well. In addition to the date window at six, the dial is home to a power reserve indicator at three and running seconds at nine. Lastly, the sophisticated round case is protected by sapphire crystal on both sides and it is held together by an alligator leather strap.
The heart of this IWC Portugieser lies in its 52010 calibre, meticulously crafted with 257 components. The skeletonised caseback reveals the intricate inner workings of this exceptional movement, featuring a skeleton rotor with an 18k gold medallion. The watch is water-resistant to 30 metres. What truly sets this watch apart is its impressive seven-day power reserve, made possible by two mainspring barrels.
This IWC Portugieser IW500703 has minor nicks on the clasp and caseback. The leather strap is also slightly soiled.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
