Interpreted in rose gold, this Palatial Classic brings the emotive personality of the brand in an understated form, ideal for someone looking for high watchmaking in a subtle package.
Why we love it
Not many pieces within the ostentatious selection of Jacob & Co. watches can be called everyday wearers. But one that gleefully settles into that category is the Palatial Classic: simple, elegant, and understated. And with all that, it's a timepiece brimming with tasteful details and discerning nuances — elements that make it stand out.
42mm in diameter and 6.8mm thick, this Palatial Classic is a comparatively humble Jacob & Co. watch. However, its construction in 18k rose gold is anything but that. The watch retains the statement-making character of the brand with its brilliantly polished finish, the well-moulded lugs, and the knurled crown that carries an engraved and micro-blasted Jacob & Co. logo.
Akin to the case, one can witness a lot of action on the dial. The interesting and well-executed guilloche pattern adds a quick knack to the watch, as does the charming shade of blue chosen for this particular model. The faceted hour markers and hands join the centre scale and the brand logo at nine to bring the luxe appeal of the case onto the dial. While the majority of the expanse remains scarce, the well-placed bells and whistles never let the charm dwindle.
Inside the solid caseback is the in-house calibre JCCA01, a self-winding mechanical movement that uses a Glucydur balance wheel. It is decorated exceptionally well with a Cotes de Geneve pattern, circular graining and a vertical satin finish. A power reserve of 36 hours is promised.
This Jacob & Co. Palatial Classic Automatic PC300.40.NS.ND.ABALA has minor nicks on the case and caseback. The watch promises very good condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
