An ingeniously-designed case. A completely skeletonised dial. A high-power manual-wound calibre. This Epic X Titanium has a lot to show!
Why we love it
In addition to the crazy watches like Astronomia and Opera Godfather, the one timepiece that eloquently captures the brand's heightened creative range is the Epic X. Introduced in 2015, the watch offers exceptional ingenuity on the wrist, having been developed with both form and function in mind. This Epic X Titanium, reference EX110.21.AA.AF.ABRUA, draws attention to its wearable form and relatively subtler appeal.
The case, measuring 44mm in diameter, is 12.3mm thick (which is quite slimmer compared to other Jacob & Co. watches). The design, with a unique case construction and a skeletonised dial, is certainly the most significant aspect of this watch. It re-employs the signature X-shaped lugs with a black DLC-coated titanium case. Also, the ergonomic rubber strap gives the piece a fun casual style.
With an entirely open-worked dial, this Epic X Titanium displays the time-reading functions with much simplicity. Manual-winding calibre JCAM02 is designed vertically, with all its gold gears, wheels, bridges, mainspring barrel, and balance visible through the front and back sapphire crystal glass. The arrangement of all the components is impressive; and forwards a pleasing vista. The barrel, offering 48 hours of power reserve, is visible through the front at 12 o'clock. Each element is decorated to haute horlogerie standards.
This Jacob & Co. Epic X Titanium EX110.21.AA.AF.ABRUA has minor nicks on the caseback. Yet, the watch is in very good condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
