This Jaeger-LeCoultre is not just another fine dress watch but an aesthetically-elevated timepiece that presents an interesting watch complication in a surprisingly elegant expression.
Why we love it
Master Control indeed is a collection that brings an effortless union of understated style and compelling watch complications. Outfitted with functions spanning a simple date to much-coveted moonphase, Jaeger-LeCoultre has delivered many watchmaking wonders through this collection. One such marvel is this Reserve de Marche, which makes a simple power reserve indicator the hero element of the watch.
It’s an elegant 37mm watch with a stainless steel case and a highly-legible silver dial. The smooth, polished, fixed bezel adds to the understated trope of the watch. A date sub-dial is placed at two o’clock, a seconds counter at six, and an intermix of the index and Arabic numeral markers completes the dial display. The defining element of the watch is the power reserve indicator located at 10 o’clock in a quadrant shape featuring an hour scale to demonstrate a 42-hour running autonomy. Jaeger-LeCoultre adds luminous hands and dot hour markers for easy time-reading after dark.
In addition to a whopping power reserve, the automatic calibre JLC 983/1 comes with 41 Jewels, 273 parts, and 28800 bph frequency. And, of course, this subtle, refined timepiece boasts up to 30 metres of water resistance.
This Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Reserve de Marche Q1488404 comes in excellent condition with a robust black leather strap. Please note a few minor scuffs are visible on the sapphire crystal caseback.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
