With a stunning wrist presence, great looks, and impressive mechanics, this Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar makes a charming and timeless statement.
Why we love it
Upon its release in 2013, the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar was a hot property - an elegant-looking dress watch upholding one of the most difficult-to-produce watchmaking complications. Today, it savours the same standing within the maison's catalogue as well as the watch market, for a good reason. While the details and mechanism are foreseeably nonpareil, it is also quite incredible on the wrist, casting a strong, memorable presence.
The case of this Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar measures 39mm in diameter and only 9.2mm in height. It enjoys a sweet spot between a large and a small watch that patrons of varied wrist sizes can enjoy. It is made of 18k white gold and is water resistant to 50 metres. It features tapered lugs with chamfered, brushed edges and a sapphire crystal caseback.
The well-balanced dial stands out. It brings a neat execution of day, date and month indications presented as sub-dials at three, six, and nine o’clock. The moon phase display at 12 o’clock is followed by a discreet aperture on the axis that indicates the hours during which a wearer should not adjust the watch (typically 10pm to 2am). Lastly, a year indicator is placed between seven and eight o’clock markers. The muted shade of grey that blankets the dial adds a touch of refinement to the overall look.
A reliable in-house calibre 868 is chosen to power the perpetual calendar complication on this timepiece. Fitted with an automatic winding system, the movement features 336 parts and 46 jewels. The delicate Côte de Genève stripes, pèrlage, and polished edges are all visible through the sapphire crystal. It has a power reserve of 38 hours.
This Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin Perpetual Calendar Q130354J shows light scratches on the caseback and buckle. Its leather strap is in satisfactory form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
