An elegant case and a striking dial make this time-only Polaris Automatic a watchmaking champion from Jaeger-LeCoultre.
Why we love it
In 2018, Jaeger-LeCoultre debuted a modern reinterpretation of the 1968 Polaris in the form of a new striking collection of sports watches. Out of the five models introduced in the collection, the Polaris Automatic is the simplest and time-only version that hits all the right notes. Measuring 41mm in diameter in stainless steel and just 11.2mm in thickness, it is driven by in-house calibre 898, an impressive automatic movement that has undergone the house's 1,000 Hour Control testing and provides a power reserve of 40 hours.
The brushed and polished finishing, the meticulously formed crowns on the right for the inner bezel and to set time, and the elegantly sloping lugs combine to form a handsome case that manifests the house's brilliant craftsmanship perfectly. Further, this case frames a classic black dial featuring three different textures. While the centre of the dial bears a sunray effect, the disc carrying the hour markers flaunts a grainy texture, and the inner rotating bezel is opaline and glossy. The highly luminous applied markers and hands legibly grace the expanse of the dial.
In conclusion, this Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Automatic serve as an ideal addition to any collection with a timeless charm and an equal amount of performance alacrity.
This Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Q9008170 has scratches on the bezel, case, and caseback. The bracelet and clasp have marks as well.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
