A sumptuous slice of vintage Polaris served with the signature Jaeger-LeCoultre elegance as well as a soupcon of contemporary charm.
Why we love it
It's hard to downplay the significance of the 2018-released Polaris Date. Despite being notably simple sans the chronograph or alarm function, it advanced a personality that resonated with patrons immediately. This Polaris Date delivers straightforwardness and a signature vintage touch and unites them with a powerful in-house movement. The calibre 899 at the heart of this reference is automatic, featuring 218 components and 32 jewels and promises a 38-hour power reserve.
Dressed up in a stainless steel case and a rubber strap, this watch particularly shines with its well-designed dial. A textural appeal is apparent on the dial as it displays luminous hour markers on a grained chapter ring, while the centre is a smooth disc that appears a bit elevated. And even though the date function on a dive watch is not a popular opinion, here it enhances the whole look with much sophistication and practicality.
Overall, this Polaris Date is a handsome timepiece that instantly reminds one of the vintage Polaris models. But on the wrist, it is quite contemporary — the perfect combination one can ask for.
Please note this Jaeger-LeCoultre Polaris Date Q9068670 bears noticeable marks on the caseback. But, with a firm rubber strap, the overall condition of the watch is fairly good.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
