Jaeger-LeCoultre cleverly toes the line between classic and contemporary, presenting a design that transcends fads and complements tastes of all kinds.
Why we love it
During the 1930s, British officers stationed in India faced a peculiar problem with their watches. While playing polo, strokes of a mallet would often break and damage the face of their timepieces. Picking up the challenge, Jaeger-LeCoultre developed a wristwatch that stylishly resolved the issue. The solution - Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso. An elegant-looking creation with a kinetic case that could be flipped, thereby protecting the dial. An iconic design that elevated both the maison's repository and the watchmaking world's prominence.
Reverso Duo honours the watch's storied history while elevating it with a contemporary spin. It comes with dials on both sides, the reserve one flaunting a GMT complication. Here we have reference Q3742421, which proudly carries the elements of the original model. Case in point - the very sophisticated and androgynous case with signature grooves on the top and the bottom. The silver dial carries Arabic numeral hour markers, blue hands, a small seconds sub-dial at six o'clock, a date window at 12, and an inner chapter ring. On the reverse side is another beautiful dial with a second-time zone, a 12-hour display, and a practical day-night indicator.
While classic in terms of design, Q3742421 is the brand's expression of modern luxury, as such comprising a 30mm rose gold case supported by a leather strap and the calibre 986. Highly reliable, this Swiss mechanical, manually-wound movement beats at a frequency of 28,800vph. A 48-hour power reserve is the final element that renders this timepiece a horological marvel.
Please note there are light scratches present on the case, bezel, and caseback of this Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Duo Q3742421. The leather strap is in excellent condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
