Meet the Louis Moinet Metropolis, which is modest and high-end at the same time with a brilliant magic blue dial and well-executed case.
Why we love it
Louis Moinet foregrounds its tasteful watchmaking excellence in the Metropolis. It's a simple time-only watch with discerning twists and haute horlogerie details that are so inherently Louis Moinet. A unique play on skeletonisation marks the design of this Metropolis Magic Blue, where wonderful casework and dial integration bring a surprising level of visual charm. The polished stainless steel case, which measures 43.2mm, features skeletonised curved lugs and a slim notched bezel punctuated by the signature screws.
An even more enhanced level of detailing defines the Magic Blue dial, which is statement-making through and through. The shimmery blue shade works as the perfect counterpoint to an open-worked aperture at nine o'clock that discreetly reveals the movement's balance, escapement and bridges. Roman numeral hour markers, which make their first-ever appearance on a Louis Moinet timepiece, are suspended in the air linked to a central ring and another on the flange made from neoralithe. One can witness Louis Moinet's brilliant craftsmanship in the construction of the hour markers, where each of them is meticulously decorated and finished.
As one might expect, the mechanism powering this watch is nothing less than exceptional. From decoration to assembly and function to precision, the self-winding calibre LM45 manifests perfection. It operates at 28,800bph to provide a power reserve of 48 hours.
This Louis Moinet Mechanical Wonders Metropolis Magic Blue LM-45.10.20 has light scuffs on the case, caseback, and clasp. The leather strap is in satisfactory form. It is limited to 60 timepieces.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
