The Masterpiece Seconde Mysterieuse marked a new watchmaking feat for Maurice Lacroix. Displaying the technological genius of the house, the piece revolutionised the world of mechanical watchmaking with its refreshing interpretation of time — in a distinctive linear form. This watch comes with a solid seconds subdial at six o’clock with a double-tipped seconds hand that moves around the counter mysteriously, in an almost mystical manner. The hand moves from one quarter to the other, alternating between the horizontal and vertical axis every 15 seconds. This contrasting white disc with the gliding hand is the hero element of the watch and catches attention instantaneously. The rest of the dial is skeletonised, allowing one to dive into the innovative and unique mechanism that lets all the magic happen.

The automatic movement ML215 is the 12th in-house calibre that is designed, built, assembled, and finished in the brand’s workshops. The movement has 50 hours of power reserve, beats at a frequency of 18,000bph, and is assembled with 48 jewels.
