With an elevated mechanism and look, this Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean is easily one of the best diver's watches we have come across.
Why we love it
The Seamaster Planet Ocean is a line of exceptionally high-performance dive watches that have firmly established themselves as the brand's linchpins. Here we have a 2016-updated model, reference 215.30.44.21.03.001.
Constructed in stainless steel into a 43.5mm case, the silhouette of this Planet Ocean carries a familiar Seamaster personality with the coin-edged, unidirectional bezel featuring a ceramic insert and the signature LiquidMetal diving scale. The knurled crown and helium escape valve further strengthen this notion. The dial follows the bold and solid style affirmed by the case, with a matching blue ceramic dial adorned with Arabic numeral and index hour markers filled with Superluminova. A pair of arrow-shaped hands and a slim seconds hand complete the timekeeping elements of the dial. The date window is placed conventionally at three.
This reference was the first Omega Seamaster watch to be called a Master Chronometer, as its automatic calibre 8900 passed the eight rigorous tests set by METAS. Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback, this self-winding calibre features a silicon balance spring and two series-connected barrels that provide a power reserve of 60 hours.
This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M 215.30.44.21.03.001 shows minor scuffs on the crystal, case, and caseback. The clasp and bracelet have nicks too.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
