With an elevated mechanism and look, this Planet Ocean is easily one of the best dive watches we have come across. Doesn't the playful orange tone evoke instant admiration? We thought so too.
Why we love it
It's pretty hard to find a watch enthusiast looking for a dive watch to be not taken by the Planet Ocean series from the Omega Seamaster family. First introduced in 2005, Planet Ocean was the first Omega watch to be equipped with the now-popular Co-Axial escapement. This reference 215.32.44.21.01.001 is an aesthetically dynamic, 2016 updated model that introduces a black ceramic unidirectional bezel with a bright orange coating and Liquidmetal diving scale. Mimicking the characterful mien of the bezel is the robust black rubber strap with visible orange stitching and lining. This 600m water-resistant timepiece clearly delivers on all the requisites of a great diving watch, conspicuous contrast being one of them, here achieved through the bezel.
Planet Ocean's distinctive elements that make it instantly recognisable are all present in this reference. The characteristic bevelled lugs, the knurled crown, and the helium escape valve at 10 o'clock - all contribute to making this watch unmistakable. The stainless steel case is 43.5mm wide and houses a black dial where luminous hour indexes and hands are paired with orange Arabic numerals at 12, six, and nine o'clock. The watch displays the date through a window at three o'clock and also features a time-zone function.
This reference is equipped with calibre 8900 visible through the exhibition caseback. It is a self-winding mechanical movement that is a certified Master Chronometer. The beautiful Cotes de Geneve pattern is present throughout, and the two barrels ensure a whopping power autonomy of 60 hours. It also offers high precision, resistance to magnetic fields, and reliability.
This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 215.32.44.21.01.001 is in excellent condition with a strong case featuring no scratches and a rubber strap in great shape.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
