It's big and it's blue! This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean is a lesson in aesthetic excellence and technical refinement.
Why we love it
Omega launched a veritable iteration of the Planet Ocean called the Big Blue in 2017. This watch, reference 215.92.46.22.03.001, was a culmination of the success received by the Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon and the Planet Ocean Deep Black. Taking cues from these timepieces that proved ceramic construction is a formula for success, Omega released the Big Blue with a ceramic case and dial. The reference rocks a stunning blue profile elevated by tinges of orange and reliable, precision movement.
It retains the 45.5mm width of its predecessor, along with the signature helium escape valve at 10, an exhibition caseback, and a whopping 600 metres of water resistance. On the dial, you'll find two white gold arrow hands, an orange-tipped seconds hand, and an orange-hued GMT hand. GMT markings are placed on a chapter ring at the rehaut. Further, the dial carries luminous hour indexes and a date window at three o'clock.
The Omega co-axial movement - calibre 8906 - powers this Planet Ocean Big Blue. It operates on a self-winding mechanism, is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss, and is equipped with two barrels that enable 60 hours of power reserve. The finishing on the movement is an element in itself, with beautiful Geneva waves covering the expanse visible through the open caseback.
This Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Big Blue 215.92.46.22.03.001 comes in excellent shape with a sturdy rubber strap.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
