This Omega is a testimony to the beginning of a great era for the brand's dive watches - the first Planet Ocean model - beaming with confidence and style.
Why we love it
When it was launched in 2005 with this reference 2200.50.00 we have here today, Planet Ocean instantly established itself as the best Seamaster iteration ever. Differing from more aesthetical variations within the collection, this reference presented a bold dive watch that meant business with its whopping 600 metres of water resistance and solid construction.
Measuring 45.5mm, the watch sits comfortably on the wrist with its curvy profile rendered in stainless steel. It includes a fluted unidirectional diving bezel in addition to a screw-down crown and helium escape valve at 10. On the dial, functionality reigns supreme, facilitated by bold hour markers and hands, high luminosity, and a neat configuration. The tone-on-tone date aperture creates a balanced look while further elevating the ergonomic appeal.
Interestingly, this reference was not just the first Planet Ocean model, but also the first Omega dive watch to come equipped with a movement that featured the brand's Co-Axial escapement. Calibre 2500 is chronometer-certified and built upon an upgraded ETA 2892-A2 base, providing 48 hours of running capacity.
Except for some minor nicks on the bracelet and clasp, this Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 2200.50.00 shows excellent pre-owned condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
