Celebrating half a century of horological excellence and space exploration, this 50th-anniversary timepiece honours OMEGA's iconic "Silver Snoopy Award" from NASA.
Why we love it
This 50th-anniversary timepiece honours the "Silver Snoopy Award" that OMEGA received from NASA astronauts in 1970, acknowledging the brand's significant contributions to space exploration, particularly the Apollo 13 mission.
The 42mm stainless steel case is paired with a blue nylon fabric strap and houses a silver dial featuring blue PVD angular hour markers and hands, along with an embossed silver Snoopy medallion on the blue sub-dial at nine o'clock.
The NAIAD LOCK caseback displays a detailed vision of the far side of the moon, crafted on sapphire crystal through micro-structured metallisation. An animated Snoopy in his Command and Service Module (CSM) appears on a whimsical hand, rotating when the chronograph function is engaged. Behind Snoopy, an Earth disc rotates once per minute, synchronised with the watch's small seconds hand.
Black engravings on the caseback pay tribute to Apollo 13 and OMEGA's Silver Snoopy Award, complemented by a blue ceramic bezel ring with a white enamel tachymeter scale. The watch is powered by the Omega calibre 3861 and is accompanied by a special commemorative box.
This Omega Speedmaster Anniversary Series 310.32.42.50.02.001 is in very good condition despite the nicks on the caseback.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
