The Speedmaster breaks new ground with this stealthy Dark Side of the Moon, made of just a single block of ceramic.
Why we love it
The charming Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon, introduced in 2013, is more than an aesthetic evolution for Omega's iconic flagship collection. It is the first Omega watch to be completely constructed of ceramic, a single block of ceramic, to be specific. It is achieved after much effort as ceramic is difficult to treat, so the cases made out of it are tricky to produce. To top it off, Omega went the extra mile to render not just the case in zirconium oxide ceramic but the crown and pushers in the same material as well.
On the wrist, this Dark Side of the Moon reference 311.92.44.51.01.003 casts an appeal that is hard to miss. It lends itself to a variety of sensibilities. One has the timeless allure the Speedmaster is known for, elevated by the bold black look imparted by the impressive ceramic construction, perfectly emulating its namesake. Overall, it's a statement piece worth flaunting, whether it is at work or a party.
The dial, with luminous hands and indexes, the date aperture at six, and the neatly positioned chronograph counters at three and nine, is highly legible. The Dark Side of the Moon engravings on the caseback drive home the fact that this is not your regular Omega Speedmaster - it's a special one!
The Omega calibre 9300 at the heart of this Speedmaster is a COSC-certified automatic movement with the signature co-axial escapement. It also comes with a column wheel chronograph mechanism with a vertical clutch and allows for an impressive 60 hours of power reserve. In addition to being technically impressive, it's also decorated to the highest standard. One can glimpse at the beauty of Cotes de Geneve stripping through the open caseback.
This Omega Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon 311.92.44.51.01.003 is in very good condition.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
