Omega adds another stellar timepiece to the iconic Speedmaster line. Taking the legacy of Dark Side of the Moon forward, this Vintage Black is watchmaking at its best.
Why we love it
With its beguiling mix of stealth and substance and the Co-Axial calibre 9300, Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon was an instant icon when released in 2013. A classic chronograph, Dark Side of the Moon became the first Omega watch to be rendered completely in ceramic, exuding a bold elegance that's dressy enough for work and statement enough for soirees. In 2015, Omega launched four new versions of Dark Side of the Moon, each with a distinctive and stunning dial design. One among them was this reference 311.92.44.51.01.006, called Vintage Black.
Housed in a 44.25mm black ceramic case, the watch's stealthy profile is offset by touches of brown on the bezel and dial, owing to the use of vintage Super-LumiNova to deliver a vintage effect. With such beguiling contrast, the stark black brushed case, and the depth of the dial, this watch is brilliant on the aesthetics front and looks even more profound on the wrist.
The dial is a matt ceramic created with laser technology. It carries luminous indexes and hands. Additionally, the complementing sub-dials are placed at three and nine o'clock, while the date window sits at six. Also, the bezel houses a matte ceramic ring engraved with a tachymeter scale.
The automatic movement powering this handsome watch functions with a column wheel mechanism; has a silicon balance spring and promises a 60-hour power reserve.
Even while the leather strap is in only satisfactory condition; overall, this Omega watch is in great form.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
