Omega packs a punch with this Speedmaster 38mm that ticks all boxes — an elegant design, excellent construction, striking and meaningful details, and the irrefutable Omega spirit.
Why we love it
Back in 2017, Omega introduced a new variation of the emblematic Speedmaster. This new Speedmaster 38 was fashioned with a heavy focus on aesthetics and design. It was a new direction, that segued this iconic line from sporty to dressy.
While the form remained the same, a combination of elements changed the perception of the watch, making it less sporty and more elegant. Foremostly, the size was reduced to 38mm, which instantly elevated its versatility, allowing both men and women to wear it comfortably. The focus on aesthetics is first spotlighted by the use of a stainless steel outer ring in addition to the aluminium tachymeter one on the bezel. Similar touches beautify the crown, pushers, and the hour markers and hands on the dial.
Speaking of the dial, Omega decided to go visually understated and tasteful for this Speedmaster 38. The sun-brushed blue dial is quite refined and clean. It bears luminous hands and markers and an eye-catching contrasting date aperture at six. The horizontally-placed chronograph sub-dials carry a dimensional depth thanks to their unique oval shape. Each counter is flanked by crescent shapes, which nod to Omega's Greek 'Ω' logo.
Inside is the Omega's co-axial automatic calibre 3330, with a power reserve of 52 hours. This column-wheel chronograph movement powers many other Omega Speedmaster watches and a few Seamaster Diver 300M versions as well. Finally, the watch is held by a steel bracelet with a butterfly clasp.
This Omega Speedmaster 38 324.30.38.50.03.001 promises excellent condition despite minor scratches on the bracelet and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
