The Speedmaster Legend, which celebrates Michael Schumacher and his brilliant feat of winning the world championship for the sixth time, is one of the most loved models within this iconic line.
Why we love it
Michael Schumacher became one of the most successful drivers in the history of F1 racing when he won the world championship for the sixth time in 2003. Omega celebrated this milestone of their once long-time brand ambassador with a special edition of their linchpin Speedmaster. Introduced in 2004, the Speedmaster Legend is a distinctive-looking timepiece that commemorates Schumacher with an impressive panda dial and a superlative mechanism.
Well-proportioned, the stainless steel case measures 42mm, with beautiful bevelling on the lugs, and is finished with both polished and brushed surfaces. Functionality is optimised on the case with 100 metres of water resistance and a tachymeter bezel. The dial features a panda-style horizontal configuration with a striking black and red outer minute ring, creating a pleasing colour scheme. The applied minute markers are luminous to ensure legibility, as do the three hands. The date window is placed quite discreetly at six o'clock as it almost merges with the 12-hour counter.
Sitting underneath the engraved caseback is the calibre 3301, based on an F. Piguet chronograph movement with a column wheel. It’s an officially certified chronometer that is rhodium-plated and offers a power reserve of 42 hours.
Please note this Omega Speedmaster Legend 3559.32.00 shows light scratches on the sapphire crystal glass and a few visible nicks on the caseback, bracelet, and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
