We would not wait for a special occasion to flaunt this avant-garde Oris Big Crown Propilot X; instead, we would be pairing it with just about anything - it's such a versatile piece.
Why we love it
With the Big Crown Propilot X, Oris flaunts its remarkable watchmaking capabilities to the world. It's a timepiece that translates cutting-edge materials into ergonomic designs while retaining the house’s core aesthetics. The openwork dial, exposed movement, and impressive finishing throughout the watch are a testament to the house’s uncompromising commitment to delivering elevated design and mechanism, thereby inspiring awe from even the most discerning enthusiasts.
Its case is 44mm wide, rendered in matte grey titanium — a material appreciated by most patrons for its lightweight nature as well as high corrosion resistance. The case, round in shape, is topped by a knurled bezel and houses a downright skeletonised dial. Manual-winding movement — calibre 115 — is displayed both through the front and back. The view through the front sapphire crystal shows a slender chapter ring bearing indexes, a luminous handset, a power reserve indicator at three, and a small-second sub-dial at seven. However, the most intriguing element sits proudly at 12 o’clock. An open oversized barrel displays the hairspring in plain view, allowing one to see its coiling and uncoiling as the watch runs autonomously for 10 days. Around the back, the exhibition caseback presents incredible finishing and complementing grey-hued components contrasted beautifully by pink rubies.
The integrated titanium bracelet matches the muted vibe of this avant-garde timepiece and comes secured with a snakehead-like folding clasp engraved with 'LIFT' text.
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
