Subtle in aesthetics but strong mechanically, this Luminor is a modest-looking timepiece that manifests Panerai's brilliance most eloquently.
Why we love it
Panerai's distinguishing Italian sophistication, rugged approach, and indelible excellence have reinforced its standing in the watchmaking world for decades with timepieces that have always stood out. Today, this singular heritage continues in a contemporary form, as displayed by this Luminor PAM00423.
Aggressively balanced and thoroughly luxurious, this Luminor is housed in a 47mm stainless steel case topped by a polished round bezel. With the signature cushion shape and crown guard, this watch is distinctly Panerai. The black dial continues this narrative with the recognisable sandwich construction, high luminosity, and the familiar combination of Arabic numeral and index hour markers. Elevating both personality and function are cleanly positioned seconds sub-dial at nine and a power reserve indicator between four and five o'clock.
Within the watch beats the hand-wound mechanical calibre P.3002, visible through the sapphire crystal caseback. With a frequency of 21,600bph and two barrels, it provides a running autonomy of three days, i.e. 72 hours. Overall, this Luminor brings a strong presence on the wrist and serves as a reliable companion with its dominating design language and exceptional watchmaking prowess.
This Panerai Luminor Power Reserve PAM00423 is in overall very good condition, featuring no scratches or signs of use.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
