Impressively versatile, this Luminor Marina carries subtle tweaks while staying true to its origins and Panerai’s unwavering design legacy.
Why we love it
As one of the brand's most recognisable watch collections, Luminor carries some really emblematic models. One such timepiece is this Panerai Luminor Marina 8 Days Acciaio, which honours the maison’s irrefutable legacy with its tasteful elements and subtle redesigning. In 2014, Panerai’s linchpin Luminor Marina underwent a discreet update with the release of this reference PAM00590.
Empirically, things did not change much. This reference was given only slight modifications. Mostly, it was the addition of new elements on the dial and the caseback, iterations of which have found a solid place in Luminor’s current design sensibility. The basics remained constant, with a cushion-shaped 44mm case, a highly luminous dial, and a dominating personality that casts an ineluctable wrist presence.
The black dial spotlights the mechanical prowess of the in-house calibre P.5000 with an inscription at three o’clock reading '8 GIORNI BREVETTATO' meaning '8 DAYS PATENTED'. Additionally, it carries a small seconds counter at nine and Arabic numerals at 12 and six. The caseback bears the engravings of a human torpedo, a method of attack used by the Italian Navy during their underwater missions. The engraving commemorates Panerai’s long and celebrated association with the Italian Navy.
This Panerai Luminor Marina 8 Days Acciaio PAM00590 comes in very good condition with just a few nicks on the caseback and clasp.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
