There’s so much to enjoy about this Panerai Luminor; where do we start? The staggering eight-day power reserve, the unique equation of time complication, or the GMT function?
Why we love it
When you think of watches from Panerai, Luminor is certainly the timepiece that comes to mind. And it does make sense, considering Luminor is primed with an unmistakable classic appeal and simple form. Among the many charming versions of the watch available, this Equation Of Time reference PAM00656 certainly takes things a notch higher.
By no means a small watch, this Luminor measures a whopping 47mm, which is substantial for most wrist sizes. The lightweight, corrosion-resistant titanium case is totally in line with the signature Panerai aesthetics, with a cushion shape, crown lever guard on the side, and a polished bezel. It is 100m water resistant.
The dial of this Panerai watch, however, comes with a few surprises. In addition to Arabic numeral and index markers, the dial carries interesting complications. A month indicator is positioned at three o’clock with a date window at four, while at nine, we have small seconds counter with an am-pm indicator, and a linear equation of time indicator sits at six. The GMT function is facilitated by an arrow-tipped third hand and is adjusted using the crown. Worth noting is how legible the dial is, with everything arranged neatly and high luminescence.
In terms of movement, the sapphire crystal caseback features a manual-winding calibre P.2002/E that provides a staggering eight-day power reserve thanks to the addition of three main spring barrels, working in series.
This Panerai Luminor Equation Of Time PAM00656 has minor nicks on the bezel, case, and caseback. Otherwise, it is in very good condition. The watch is limited to 500 pieces.
Provenance
At Second Movement, the pre-owned division of Ethos Watches, we adhere to a rigorous verification process where expert watchmakers carefully inspect every watch to certify its authenticity, ensuring it is not counterfeit. We also go to the maximum extent possible to ensure that the timepiece is not a stolen property and that all duties are paid. However, in the absence of any central database, a 100% verification is unlikely for any pre-owned entity in India. Nevertheless, we can still provide a provenance guarantee for watches purchased from Ethos.
Please note all our transactions with sellers are conducted via registered banking channels, accompanied by a signed affidavit, banking proof, and PAN card.
A specific affidavit stating the watch is not a stolen property and that all applicable duties have been paid is also obtained from the seller and is available for buyers in case of legal requirements.
We strive to build trust through transparency and diligence, outlining our verification process and the inherent limitations. Our commitment to integrity shapes every transaction, prioritising your confidence while acknowledging the realities of the pre-owned watch market.
